Lynn’s Learning extends our congratulations to Kevin, a student at our Rowville Centre who recently received an award for creative writing.
The Rotary Club of Glen Waverley recently held a competition for local schools to promote and celebrate 2015 as the centenary of the Gallipoli Landings. Kevin, a year 9 student at Brentwood Secondary College entered the competition with his essay, “How have Sir John Monash’s achievements impacted on the lives of Australians today?”.
Competing against hundreds of entries from a number of schools in the area, Kevin’s essay was chosen as one of the five winners!
Kevin won a trip to Canberra where he was able to visit the Shrine of Remembrance. He also attended a dinner organised by the Rotary Club where he presented the essay topic along with his fellow winners. At the dinner, Kevin also received a $50 voucher from Rotary Club and a $50 voucher from his school – a fantastic reward for a brilliant essay!
