Lynn's Learning Pty. Ltd. (ABN 67 112 504 104) — “Lynn's Learning”, “we”, “us” — respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and share your personal information, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Because we work with children, we take particular care with the information families trust us with. It covers our website, our parent portal, and our tuition centres.
What we collect
About parents and guardians: your name, contact details (email, phone), your residential or postal address, the details of your enquiry or booking, and your billing arrangements.
About your child: their name and preferred name, year level, school (where provided), date of birth (where provided), assessment results, progress and attendance, and the notes our educators keep to tailor their teaching.
Payment information:we use Ezidebit to set up and process direct debits. Your full bank account and card numbers go directly to Ezidebit's secure systems — we never see or store them. We keep only what we need to manage your account, such as the fact that a payment method is set up.
Sensitive information:occasionally a parent chooses to share information about a child's health, disability or learning needs — for example a diagnosis — so we can better support their learning. This is “sensitive information” under the Privacy Act. We only collect and record it with your consent, when you choose to tell us, and we use it solely to help your child. You never have to provide it.
From your use of our website: our website uses no third-party advertising or analytics trackers. Our servers may keep standard technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site secure and working.
How we collect it
We collect information directly from you — through the booking, enrolment, contact and “update your details” forms on our website, in person at a centre, and by phone or email — and as you and your child use our services.
Why we use it
To arrange and deliver your child's tuition; personalise their programme; communicate with you (assessment and session confirmations, reminders, progress updates and invoices); manage your account and billing; respond to your enquiries; run and improve our centres; and meet our legal and tax obligations.
Marketing:with your consent, or where the law otherwise allows, we may send you news, learning tips and offers by email or SMS. You can opt out at any time — use the unsubscribe link, reply STOP to a text, or contact us — and we'll stop.
Who we share it with
Our team and franchisees.Lynn's Learning operates through company-owned and franchised centres. The staff and the franchisee or centre manager who runs your child's centre can access your family's information to deliver tuition and manage your account. Access is limited to what each role needs.
Service providers who help us run the business, bound to protect your information and use it only for the services they provide to us: Ezidebit (payments), Supabase (our secure database, hosted in Sydney, Australia), Vercel (website and portal hosting), Resend (transactional email), Mobile Message (SMS), and Google (Maps, and Google reviews or Business Profile if you choose to leave one).
We never sell your personal information. We may disclose information where we are required or authorised to do so by law.
Sending information overseas
Our main database is hosted in Australia (Sydney). Some of our service providers — such as our website and email providers — are based in, or may process limited data through, the United States. Where information is handled overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is treated consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Photos and media
From time to time we may take photos or videos at our centres or events for marketing, such as our website, social media or advertising. We only use images of a student with a parent's or guardian's consent, and you can decline, or withdraw your consent at any time, by contacting us.
How we store and protect it
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including encrypted connections, access controls and role-based permissions so people only see what their role requires. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, but we take protecting your family's information seriously.
We keep your information for as long as we need it to provide our services and to meet our legal obligations — generally around seven years after your last activity with us, to satisfy tax and financial record-keeping requirements — after which we securely delete or de-identify it.
Children's privacy
Our services are for children and are arranged by a parent or guardian. We rely on the parent or guardian to provide their child's information and to consent to us collecting and using it as described in this policy.
Cookies
Our website uses only the essential cookies needed to make it work. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
Your rights
You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you or your child, or ask a question or make a complaint, by contacting us below. We will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with the “last updated” date shown at the top.
