With advances in technology, we’ve recently seen increases in the number of online tuition courses appearing. Many parents ask our opinion on whether online tuition works, or whether the traditional face-to-face tuition is better. Today we thought we’d help answer this query by providing the advantages and disadvantages of online learning versus face to face tuition.

When it comes time for parent-teachers interviews there’s a large number of facets of your child’s learning and behaviour that will be discussed. As a parent, it’s never a nice experience to be told that your child is disruptive during class time. If your child has been labeled as “disruptive”, take some time to understand why – it might not be because they are “naughty”. It’s possible that something else is causing the distractions.

In every classroom there are fast learners and slow learners, and every child will learn different concepts at a different rate. The National Curriculum is suited to the “average” child, which you’ll see here doesn’t mean every child. Here are our tips for assisting slower and faster learners through their academic education.

We often get asked by parents with children in years 3, 5, 7 and 9 how to begin preparing for NAPLAN. Before we begin, we’ll start out by stating that NAPLAN is not a contest. It should not be used for bragging rights (“my child is smarter than yours”) or to humiliate teachers, schools or children. In saying this, we do believe children should be sufficiently prepared to sit their NAPLAN assessments.

NAPLAN was designed to grade educational achievement, by using a large-scale standard throughout Australia. In this sense, parents are able to understand how their child is performing academically according to the National standard.

Homework is often the centre of much nagging, arguments and disruption in any household. Many children dislike or even hate homework! However, while your child may not like the idea of completing homework, studying outside of school hours is required. We hope these tips assist giving parents with even the most defiant children some ideas to try!
